Rosamund Pike

Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the sole child of Caroline (Friend) Pike, mother of a classical violinist, as well as Julian Pike, an opera singer father. Because of their job, she spent much of her childhood touring around Europe. Pike attended Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was only 23 when she was cast in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then recognized by an agent and was signed. Her debut film was a large-budget action movie. However, her subsequent film work was primarily in independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). The Libertine won her the award for Best Supporting Actress prize at The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) included Pike in the role of one of the Bennet girls. After a brief period in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) followed. She returned to film with outstanding performances in three lesser films. She was also in Johnny English Reborn (2011) as well as the sci-fi thriller Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike made a return to action movies as the main actress, playing Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
